Every knife from Victorinox has 126 years of history & craftsmanship behind it. The climber comes with tools like a large blade, small blade, scissors, can opener with a small screwdriver, cap lifter with a screwdriver, wire stripper, multi-purpose hook, corkscrew, reamer with sewing eye, tweezers, toothpick, and key ring inox.

Most of the tools come in handy in our every day-to-day activity and hence it is a real money saver. This wonderful handy tool comes with a nylon handle, which is lightweight material compared to the Climber Swiss Army I.

The Blades

Victorinox Swiss Army Climber II Pocket KnifeThe entire tool set is made up of stainless steel, giving it a long-lasting, corrosion life. This product is completely manufactured in Switzerland like every other Victorinox product, which assures that there is no compromise in terms of quality.

The blades prove to last longer with a little bit of care. An occasional air blow or usage of Victorinox oil can help to keep the pocket knife set in a solid state. The blade proved to be strong and withstand a huge amount of pressure too.

The long and short blade comes really sharp and can be used long without the need for sharpening. The blade used in the scissor was thin but sharp enough to cut through things. The can opener’s blade was sharp enough to punch through the tin. The flat-head screwdriver is designed to handle most screw heads.

The corkscrew proved to be really convenient while untying knots and opening bottles. The reamer was powerful enough to punch through things and the sewing eye made it convenient to stitch even thick materials.

The Handle

Victorinox Swiss Army Climber II Pocket KnifeThe body is made up of nylon, even though it’s less durable, it is a lightweight material giving us an advantage. The knife’s body is given a matte finish, unlike any model from Victorinox.  This gives the knife an enhanced grip and less shine on the body.

The edges of the knife seem to be sturdy and don’t break off easily even if a lot of stress or leverage is given. The screw that holds the tools can be tightened occasionally.

Pros & Cons

This is the only pocketknife that comes with so many extra tools, plus it comes from a company that is known for making well-built and quality pocket knives. The Swiss Army knife will become your best friend, this is a must-have pocket knife that you will love!

The only disadvantage that we could find is, the body gave a fake feel of a Swiss Army knife, with a dark matte finish plastic. And the logo looks like a painted one, instead of giving a machine engraving of the famous trademark.

Final Verdict

The original Climber has a collider handle, but the Climber II has a matte finish. When it comes to the tools provided with the Climber II, Victorinox has given an appealing product for a cheaper price. But most people feel that this product lacks the finish of a real Swiss Army Knife. The Philips screwdriver is replaced by a corkscrew. Victorinox gives a lifelong warranty with the Climber II.

Being a company that has been known well in the market, the brand name is originally Swiss, which certainly means it carries class and style. It is known to be one of the most popular companies which manufacture not only knives but also bags and other kinds of merchandise. Thus, with a strong presence in the global market, Victorinox has certainly made a reputation for itself not only in Europe but across all continents where its products are shipped. Thus, when it’s Swiss, consider it to be the best.
